In 1948, Wilhelm Althammer established a coppersmith's shop in Heidenheim an der Brenz. This small craftsman's business has evolved into a medium-sized company which now specialises entirely in the processing of stainless steel and other high-quality alloys. Welded tubes, tanks and vessels as well as complete pipeline systems and their installation are the products and services that we supply today all over the world from Heidenheim. They are used in the most varied areas of process technology, such as in the pulp and paper industry, the chemical, oil and gas industry, environmental engineering, water and marine technology, shipbuilding and other fields of the machine and plant building industry. Our production facilities cover a factory area of approx. 12.000 m2. Our corporate premises total 55.000 m2. We process approx. 9.000 tons of stainless steel as well as nickel and copper alloys per annum.

In 1979, the German Bergrohr family initiated construction of a large diameter pipe mill on the shores of the Gulf Coast in Panama City, Florida. The mill emulated the Bergrohr 3-roll bending production process and opened its doors for business in May 1980 as Berg Steel Pipe Corp. The words technology, integrity and teamwork were spoken by personnel then, and today, more than 20 years later, the same words still flow from the lips of many of the same people. Berg has a rich heritage, emanating at its inception from the German Bergrohr family of pipe mills and continuing today as a part of the EUROPIPE family of pipe mills. As a part of the Europipe family, Berg offers a variety of resources, inclusive of research and metallurgical disciplines, enabling our customers to meet their project goals with the highest degree of satisfaction.

QUEINS & CO., GERMANY, are specialized in heavy duty pay-off and take-up stands, to be used for unwinding/winding of stainless tubes having a diameter between 3/8 and 2”. These tubes are mainly used for manufacturing of umbilical cables in the offshore industry. Machinery are of floor-traversing type for reel flange dia. of up to 3600mm (141") and reel weight up to 23 tons (50.000 lbs.). Other models are being manufactured for reel weights up to 300 tons.
